The Mount Arlington Department of Taxation consists of two separate divisions: assessment and collection. The Tax Assessment Office ensures an accurate valuation of all real property and equitable distribution of the tax levy. The Tax Collection Office collects taxes for both the borough government and Mount Arlington Public School District and is responsible for the management and collection of these taxes.

The 2013 Tax Rate per $100 is 2.479

Sale of Property for Nonpayment of Municipal Charges

NOTE:  AFTER APRIL 30, 2014, ANY ACCOUNT WITH 2013 OPEN CHARGES WILL BE UNABLE TO PAY ON-LINE.  ONLY CERTIFIED FUNDS OR CASH WILL BE ACCEPTED FOR PAYMENT AFTER THIS DATE.

The annual Tax Sale for the sale of Property for nonpayment of municipal charges will be held on June 19, 2014.  Any unpaid municipal charge (tax, solid waste, sewer, water) from the year 2013 will be subject to tax sale. To avoid being sold at tax sale, please pay your 2013 charges. Please contact the Tax Department at (973) 398-6832 Ext. 113 for amounts due.

ATTENTION SENIOR CITIZENS – PROPERTY TAX DEDUCTION

Senior Citizens, Disabled Persons and War Veterans: You may be eligible for a Property Tax Deduction of $250.00 per year. Please contact the Tax Collector’s office for more information.
