When wind, snow or lightning storms, tree removal or other emergency situations arise, call 973-398-2100, and the police dispatcher will contact appropriate municipal authorities.

The Public Works Department is responsible for the maintenance and upkeep of public grounds and Borough buildings within the Borough. This includes Borough buildings and streets, potholes, catch basins and public water/wastewater systems.  Maintained seasonally are playgrounds, parks, athletic areas and beach recreational areas. Department of Public Works non-emergency line is 973-398-4200 and is monitored during normal business hours.
