Borough Clerk & Registrar

The Mount Arlington Borough Clerk and Registrar Office (more commonly referred to as the Clerk’s Office) strives to provide the highest level of customer service and a direct link between the residents and their local government.  This is achieved through an unwavering commitment to the foundation and pillars of government ethics: Integrity, Trust, Honor, Duty, Respect and Transparency.  

The Clerk’s Office is responsible for many essential government functions and duties such as:

  • Preparation of Borough Council meeting agendas and minutes
  • Advertising Ordinances, Resolutions and the Municipal Budget
  • Vital Statistics including Marriage Licenses, Civil Unions, Domestic Partnerships, Birth Certificates & Death Certificates
  • Chief Administrative Officer of all Elections held in the Municipality
  • Chief Registrar of Voters in the Municipality
  • Maintains custody of all official records not specifically handled by other departments. 
  • Handles all Open Public Records Requests (O.P.R.A.)
  • Bingo, Raffle, Liquor and Animal Licensing
  • Act as liaison to the public and correspondent on behalf of the Governing Body.
